Kelly is Managing Director and Global Head of the Customized Fund Investment Group. CFIG manages over $30 billion of client commitments to private equity and real estate funds, and specializes in designing tailored portfolios for investors. In addition, CFIG provides portfolio management services for over $130 billion of client commitments to private equity. Kelly was recognized in 2011 and 2012 by American Banker Magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance and received the 2012 Woman of Power and Influence Award given by the National Organization for Women.
Kelvin Liu, Director, Invesco Private Capital, is involved in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of prospective partnership fund investments and has 14 years of private equity experience. Mr. Liu currently serves on several partnership advisory boards, including Barings Asia, Clearlake Capital, Craton Equity Partners, CVC Capital Partners, GGVC, KRG Capital Partners, Panorama Capital, Relativity Capital, Rembrandt Ventures, Riverwood Capital Partners, Swander Pace Capital, TCV and Upfront Ventures.
Sanjiv K. Shah is a Managing Director of BAML Capital Access Funds Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation, where he focuses on the origination, due diligence, and structuring of new investment opportunities; communication with investors, and administrative matters, including managing the group’s Chicago-based team. BAML Capital Access Funds is an experienced market-based, returns-driven private equity fund-of-funds manager and advisor focused on meeting the targeted mandates of large public pension funds, endowments and other institutional investors.
Ambassador Timothy J. Roemer leads one of America's largest diplomatic missions, broadening and deepening the strategic U.S.-India partnership and expanding public diplomacy throughout India. Nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama as the 21st U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of India on May 27, 2009, Ambassador Roemer was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 10, 2009, and sworn in on July 23, 2009.
Perrin Lim has been the Senior Fixed Income Investment Officer since January 2002. Current responsibilities include managing $13 billion in the Oregon Short Term Fund, the Oregon Intermediate Term Pool and state agency funds, and oversight of external fixed income managers (~$18 billion). Responsibilities include portfolio strategy, construction, credit research and directing the fixed income team.
Victor W. Hwang is CEO, co-founder and Managing Director of T2 Venture Creation, a Silicon Valley firm that builds startup companies and designs the ecosystems that foster entrepreneurial innovation. T2VC’s work includes capital formation, innovation policy, and economic development for clients such as the World Bank, USAID, and numerous governments and corporations. Victor is also the primary co-author of a book on designing innovation ecosystems, The Rainforest: The Secret to Building the Next Silicon Valley.
Dr. MacDonald is the Head of Research at MC Asset Management Holdings, LLC. Previously, Dr. MacDonald served as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Research at Aladdin Capital Holdings LLC. Dr. MacDonald has an extensive background in credit and economics, having worked at the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency, Credit Suisse, and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. His experience covers banks, commodity companies, energy, sovereigns, and emerging markets. Historically, he was consistently rated as one of the top fixed income analysts by Institutional Investor. Dr. MacDonald is widely published on international economic and financial issues with seventeen books to his credit, the most recent being the co-authored “Asia’s Rise in the 21st Century.” Dr. MacDonald received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut, an MA in Asian Studies from the University of London’s Oriental and African Studies Department, and a BA in Political Science (with Honors) and History from Trinity College.
Gretchen Tai has been Chief Investment Officer at Shoreline Investment Management Company since 2010. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, Shoreline oversees the investments of HP’s retirement plan assets. Gretchen’s team allocates assets to meet the needs of different benefit plan liabilities. Gretchen joined HP's Strategy and Corporate Development group in 2003, after which she led a range of investment activities including venture investing, minority equity investments and mergers and acquisitions. Gretchen received her MBA in finance from MIT's Sloan School of Management and her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wellesley College.
John Chiang was first elected in November 2006 to serve as Controller of the State of California, the ninth-largest economy in the world. He was elected to serve a second term in November 2010. Since taking office in January 2007, Controller Chiang took immediate action to make the State’s finances more transparent and accountable to the public and to weed out waste, fraud and abuse of public funds. The Controller’s aggressive audits have identified more than $5 billion in taxpayer dollars that were denied, overpaid, subject to collection, or resulted in revenues, savings and cost avoidance.
